We stopped trying to write better prompts. We started recording conversations instead.
Here's what happened. Ian Zein and I sat down with our co-founder Bart Evers, read our draft documents out loud, reacted to what we didn't like, and recorded the whole thing. We fed that transcript to Claude. It rewrote the documents based on what we actually said. We did a few rounds of that.
Two documents came out of it. A brand voice and a value proposition. Both under three pages. They now power everything we publish. Ian's LinkedIn posts, some hitting 35,000+ impressions, are generated with just those two files and a relevant article. He doesn't edit a word.
No consultants. No workshops. Just conversations, a phone recorder, and iteration.
The interesting part: the documents are short. Concise input turns out to produce better output than throwing 20 pages at a model.
